All athletes, parents, families, volunteers, coaches and caregivers are invited to our Annual Picnic! Lunch will be provided. Strolling magician and music too. Please RSVP the total number of attendees to 299-2930. It is important we know the amount of people so the appropriate activities and food can be prepared. Please speak clearly when leaving your name and number of attendees. All are welcome, just let us know that you are coming!! Please BRING LAWN CHAIRS (sunscreen and medications, if needed).

FROM LANCASTER & SOUTH: Take Rt 501 North (Lititz Pike) to Neffsville Square. At traffic light , turn LEFT onto Rt. 722 (Petersburg Road). Park Entrance on Right, turn RIGHT onto Rotary Road and follow signs to Pavilion #1 and parking.

FROM LITITZ & NORTH: Take Rt 501 South, passing Lancaster Airport. Turn RIGHT onto West Oregon Road. Turn RIGHT onto Petersburg Road. Continue to Part Entrance on Right. Turn RIGHT onto Rotary Road and follow signs to Pavilion #1 and parking.

We are excited to be participating the 5th annual Designathon at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design this year! The Designathon is a way for the college to give back to the community by designing pieces for non-profits in the area.

We are very grateful for the opportunity to work with such a great institution, and can’t wait to see the results. We will keep you posted!

Smiles for Life Foundation to Raise Money for Special Olympics Lancaster County

Every year from March 1st to June 30th, the teams at Elizabethtown, Doe Run and Leola Dental Associates volunteer their time and talent to join with the Smiles for Life Foundation to raise money for children with special needs, By utilizing all of the proceeds from this annual teeth whitening campaign, Smiles for Life has raised over $30 Million since 1998; $256,000 of that total has been raised by Elizabethtown, Doe Run, and Leola Dental Associates. If you are thinking about a smile makeover but you are nervous about where to start… try teeth whitening and help support the children of our community. Make an appointment to have your teeth professionally whitened and 50% of the money raised will go to the Smiles for Life Foundation with the other 50% being donated to Special Olympics Lancaster County.

Special Olympics Lancaster County and Isaac’s Team Up for Fundraiser

Two local Isaac’s Restaurant & Deli locations will be working with Special Olympics Lancaster County to help raise funds for the organization. Diners can go to the location in Granite Run Square or the Lititz location between 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on September 2, and 25% of their bill will be donated directly to Special Olympics Lancaster County.

Diners will need to fill out a form in order to have the funds credited towards Special Olympics. Download the form here, and be sure to bring it with you on September 2.

New Programmed Aimed at Children Ages 4-7 to Start in September

Lancaster County Special Olympics is pleased to announce a new program designed specifically for children ages 4 to 7. This program is free, and will be held on Monday evenings from 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. at the Lancaster Jew Community Center located at 2010 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601. The program runs from September 13 to October 25, 2010.

This program is designed for families to play with their young athletes in a fun instructor-led atmosphere.  The program will offer lively and fun physical activities designed to help the children develop fitness, motor skills, perceptual-motor skills, manipulative skills, and social skills.

Children are required to have a completed Application for Athlete Participation prior to joining the program.  Forms are available on our website.

Special Olympics Lancaster County Teams up with Police for Fundraiser

Special Olympics Lancaster County has teamed up with the Lancaster City and Pennsylvania State Police Force to raise money for the local chapter of Special Olympics. Between 5:30 p.m. until the restaurant closes, on June 23, 2010, the law enforcement officers will be serving customers on the deck. All their tips will be donated to Special Olympics Lancaster County. Your support is appreciated and we hope to see you there.
